2012 Annual Meeting in Bastrop

Riparian Resilience and Recovery

October 26-27, 2012

Bastrop, Texas

McKinney Roughs Nature Park

Join the TRA for our Annual Meeting with presentations Friday and a field tour on Saturday to the Bastrop StatePark and Griffith Lee Boy Scout Ranch to explore the riparian resilience and recovery of this area after the devastating wild fire.  McKinney Roughs is a 1,100 acre nature park where the Post Oak Savannah, Blackland Prairie, East Texas Piney Woods, and Colorado River valley converge to create an unusual blend of natural resources. Located just 13 miles east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, McKinney Roughs is home to hundreds of plant and animal species living within the rolling box canyons, wildflower meadows and lazy river bends of the Texas Colorado River.

Meeting registration is open! Limited overnight accommodations of beds in the dorm for Friday will be available at the McKinney Roughs Nature Park facility for a fee of $25 plus a local hotel tax of $1.94 which will be total of $26.94 per person. Hotel accommodations are also available nearby and are listed on the City of Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Website. Click here for more information on the dorms at McKinney Roughs Nature Park and pictures.

Please RSVP by email to Nikki Dictson at n-dictson@tamu.edu if you plan to attend and if you will need a bed in the dorm. * Early bird registration ends October 15.
